The art of soft light for long Irish evenings

Irish winters are long, and the light we choose shapes how our homes feel through them. Japandi lighting is low, warm and layered, which is the opposite of a single harsh ceiling bulb.
Light at three heights
Aim for one light at eye level or above, such as a pendant over the table. Add one at mid-height, like a table lamp on a sideboard, and one low down, perhaps a small lamp on a bench or the floor. Together they make pools of light and gentle shadows.
Choose warm bulbs
Look for 2700K or lower. Our ripple and pleated shades are designed to diffuse that warmth into a soft, even glow, like candlelight without the flicker.
